Our Story
27 Years of Blessing Families at Christmas
The Christmas Giveaway began 27 years ago through the vision of Evangelist Mary Taylor, who believed that the Church had a responsibility to show up for families in the community especially during the holiday season. What started as a small act of love has grown into one of Harford County's most anticipated community events, serving hundreds of families each year, completely free of charge.
Each year, we provide new and gently used toys, clothing, and food to children from infants through age 17. Families register in advance and receive their gifts through a personal, dignified appointment because every family deserves to be treated with care and respect.
But this event has always been about more than gifts. It is an opportunity for the body of Christ to come together across church walls, across denominations and demonstrate the love of Jesus in a tangible way. We want every family that walks through the doors to feel seen, welcomed, and reminded that their community cares about them.
This year, we're going even further. In addition to gifts, clothing, and food, families will also have access to local vendors and a dedicated Prayer Room because we believe that meeting practical needs and spiritual needs go hand in hand.
This is bigger than toys. It is the Church showing up united, generous, and full of hope.
Gifts for Every Child in Our Community
Each registered child receives one new toy, one gently used toy, and clothing organized by age and given with love by volunteers from churches across Harford County.
